Professionals in the field of early intervention require a strong foundation of how to obtain assessment information that is an accurate representation of a child's true abilities, not just how a child performs during testing. This four-session linked series training is designed to enhance participants' knowledge of developmentally appropriate assessment practices in their day-to-day work in early intervention.
Whether determining eligibility and designing a new IFSP, or collecting ongoing assessment information about a child's progress over time, this Institute Training Series informs and supports evidence based recommended practices.
Additional topics that MAY be covered include specialized assessment consideration for newborns and children born prematurely, children who appear at risk for ASD, children with multiple, intensive special needs, and culturally and linguistically diverse children. Various assessment tools, methods of assessment, and the team approach will also be discussed.
Sessions are filled with discussion, video, group activities along with the completion of required assignments between sessions (reading, videotaping, etc).
REGISTRANTS MUST ATTEND ALL FOUR DAYS IN ORDER TO RECEIVE 25 HOURS OF EARLY INTERVENTION CREDENTIAL CREDIT. NO PARTIAL CREDIT WILL BE AWARDED.In addition to early intervention credit, CEs toward State Licensures of OT, PT, Social Work, Nutrition/Dietician and SLP also offered.
