Online Learning Troubleshooting

This page provides possible solutions to frequently asked questions.  Please note that you may email us at onlinelearning@illinoiseitraining.org if you are unable to find an answer or solution to your problem on this page. Online Training "Rules of the Road"

  1. If you are not familiar with how to navigate our online learning management system and the modules within our online trainings please watch our "Welcome to Moodle" module by clicking here: https://webmedia.education.illinois.edu/eitp/welcome_to_moodle/
  2. Make sure you mark anything that comes from illinoiseitraining.org or Illinois.edu as safe so you can receive correspondence from us regarding your online training in your email inbox.
  3. Please make sure you allow pop up windows from learn.illinois.edu
  4. Flash Version 9 or better is required to play the online modules. Flash can be downloaded from www.adobe.com at no charge. Please keep in mind that this excludes ipads and iphones and other devices that don't support Flash.
  5. Plan enough time to complete a module once you start it.  Most modules are 20-30 minute in length or less.
  6. Go through the module in consecutive order without moving forward or backward.
  7. Once you finish a module you can close the window and a check mark will appear next to the module to document it has been completed.  The next module will not unlock until the check mark appears next to the previous module.  If the check mark doesn't appear automatically you may need to refresh your web-browser and/or clear your cache which can be done by holding down Control and F5 buttons simultaneously.
  8. Please make sure you have a strong and consistent internet connection to the best of your ability.
  9. Once you begin a quiz you will have 30 minutes to complete it.  If you do not complete it within 30 minutes you will need to start over.  A 100% passing grade is required and you will have unlimited attempts to take the quiz until you receive the passing grade.
  10. If you followed all these steps and still cannot successfully navigate through or complete the course, then email onlinelearning@illinoiseitraining.org to inform them of the online training you are in, the difficulties you are experiencing, and the steps you have taken to try to remedy the problem.

I don't hear any audio. I can't open the next module that I am supposed to take. My certificate doesn't come up at the end of the training. Certificates are no longer embedded in the online presentation.  Once you complete the required training evaluation you will receive your certificate via email within 2 business days. Email
I registered for a Moodle account and it has been more than 2 business days and I still can't access the training. Please check your spam folder to see if the confirmation email regarding your new Moodle account is there.  If it is then please make sure you mark anything from illinoiseitraining.org and Illinois.edu as safe so you can receive future correspondence from us.   Call our office or email onlinelearning@illinoiseitraining.org to have someone resend the Moodle account confirmation email if you don't find it in your spam folder. I have registered for the training, but I didn't receive the confirmation email. I am taking the Online Systems Overview and it says to look at the paper clip for attachments, but nothing is in there! We have added a new module to the training to clarify some of the issues people have while taking this training. Module 2 states that not every module will have an attachment in the paper clip. It also shares a page where you can view and download all of the attachments, so that you don't have to worry about clicking every paper clip. No
