Making Connections: Brain Based Interventions for Early Intervention

Description

Come and join Yvette Evans, Speech & Language Pathologist, and Assistant Instructional Professor of Special Education at Illinois State University. We will explore brain based practices as we look at the development of executive function skills for children birth to three and how this approach aligns with early intervention standards.
The presentation will review research and brain based learning, impact of the environment on the brain architecture, along with a look into autism, speech & language, and social-emotional concerns. You will walk out with activities and ways to set up your early intervention sessions and ideas to empower parents and caregivers to generalize the techniques in daily routines.
