Smart Technology

Description

Many therapists and teachers challenged with an increased number of children with learning and developmental difficulties report feeling ‘stuck in a rut’ and complacent with the same treatments year after year, student after student. Families and caregivers looking for the latest, most beneficial therapy treatments are rushing to purchase new technology like the iPad, hoping it will be the answer to their family’s needs. While Therapists and Teachers have different levels of familiarity with new technology, some are hesitant to let technology replace traditional learning.

This innovative one-day workshop is designed to guide therapist through the many beneficial ways to incorporate technology into traditional treatment situations. This hands-on course will help therapists to think outside the box and utilize all treatment tools available to us. We will focus on problem solving, various assistive technologies, specific apps for the iPad, low-tech treatment strategies, communication tools and how to improve our productivity. We will discuss different personality styles and how to engage our families, teachers and administrators for the best therapy and school based practices.
