ADOS-2 Research Training

Description

The workshop will cover the new Toddler Module (for children 12-31 months of age), Modules 1&2 (for nonverbal children or those with single words and simple phrase speech) and Modules 3&4 (for children and adults with more fluent language skills). This training involves greater instruction on coding procedures and psychometric properties, as well as in-depth discussion about specific administration, scoring, and coding issues. As with the Training for Clinicians, this training will feature small group instruction with opportunities for individual practice with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders. All small group supervision will be provided by licensed clinical psychologists who have achieved reliability with Dr. Nanclares-Nogues. Research trainings are kept small to ensure direct administration experience and proper discussion regarding coding procedures.

Before attending the ADOS-2 Research Training, please make sure that you review the ADOS-2 kit and manual and have a manual available to bring with you to the training. You will need to videotape yourself administering a Module T, 1 or 2 and a Module 3 or 4 and bring those tapes with you to the training. These tapes will be reviewed for administration issues and tape quality (i.e., sound and set up of ADOS administration). These will be returned to you by the end of the training workshop. Administrations need not be of actual patients. These administrations are meant to serve as further practice using the ADOS-2 and to help ensure that the tapes you submit for reliability purposes will be useful.
