SC 113. Occupational Therapy Using Ayres Sensory Integration for Children With Autism: A Clinician’s Guide

Description

This session presents a manualized protocol, developed as part of a RCT, to guide clinicians in the use of occupational therapy interventions for children with ASD who demonstrate participation challenges in daily activities related to decreased processing and integration of sensory information.

Learning Objective One: Understand the application of the sensory integration frame of references within occupational therapy for children with autism

Learning Objective Two: Become familiar with a guidebook developed to direct the clinical reasoning, assessment, and intervention for children with autism who demonstrate challenges related to poor processing and integration of sensory information

Learning Objective Three: Use the principles in the guidebook to design and measure outcomes of individually-tailored occupational therapy interventions using the principles of Ayres Sensory Integration for children with autism
