WS 302. The Pervasive Impact of Breath on Function: What To Know and What To Do

Description

New information is shedding light on respiration and development. This workshop will emphasize respiratory development as it relates to sensory motor development. Using lecture, slides, videos and experiential activity, we will address assessment and treatment of dysfunctional respiratory patterns.

Learning Objective One: Describe the ways breath impacts regulation, sleep, feeding and eating, postural control, communication and cognition.

Learning Objective Two: Identify markers of respiratory dysfunction in breathing patterns.

Learning Objective Three: Demonstrate treatment strategies for at least 3 to 4 dysfunctional respiratory patterns.
