Pediatric Gait Course: Multiple Intervention Strategies

Description

This two day course will include a basic review of trunk and lower extremity biomechanics in children, as well as components required for normal gait. Descriptions and causes of gait deviations and alignment issues will be discussed.
Specific intervention suggestions will include strengthening, elongation, addressing muscle imbalances, and facilitation of improved alignment using Kinesio Tape®, wraps and straps, Thera Togs™, foot inserts and orthotics. The course will end with a session addressing problem-solving skills with videotapes.
