Home Visits: Fun and Safe

Description

In this workshop in-home providers will learn valuable and practical safety tips when visiting the homes of families receiving EI services. There will be discussion about the latest trends in drug use and the signs of potential drug activity or use in a home and what to do if you suspect it.

You will also learn how drug abuse and violence really affects young children in the home and how it can interfere with families ability to fully embrace EI services being offered.

In-home providers will also learn how to tell a story without a book. An "invisible" story has great potential for encouraging physical and verbal imitation and emotional interaction with infants and toddlers.

At the end of the day, you will be "armed" with safe tips and a fun story to share with your EI families in their homes.
