DIAL-4 Screening Tool

Description

The Developmental Indicators for the Assessment of Learning, Fourth Edition (DIAL-4) is an individually administered developmental screener designed to identify children ages 2:6 through 5:11 who are in need of intervention in the areas of motor, concepts, language, self-help, and social-emotional skills. This tool is designed to identify children who are at risk of failing in an academic setting and therefore benefit from interventions. This tool is beneficial in a screening setting when used with children who are late referrals for a screening to determine need for Early Intervention services. This tool supports the Transition Process for children under the age of three who might be transitioning to Early Childhood at the age of three.
