Understanding the Intervention Needs of Children with Genetic Syndromes

Description

Young children with genetic syndromes are very often referred to early intervention and automatically eligible. There are some syndromes that there is more awareness of in the general community and within early intervention. The intervention needs of those young children are commonly discussed with families and EI teams. There are, however, other genetic syndromes that are not as commonly known. The needs of these children and their families can be unique. In this training Dr. Nelson will review six genetic syndromes that are "automatically eligible" and address some general intervention needs for these children that would be important to consider for EI planning.
