Early Intervention for Children with Both Developmental Delays and Complex Medical/Health Issues

Description

There has been a lot of talk in our field about medically based therapy versus developmental services for children in early intervention. How do we navigate and coordinate services in EI for children with developmental delays and complex medical conditions and/or health issues? This two hour workshop will help Service Coordinators better understand the concepts of traditional medically based pediatric therapy, developmentally appropriate supports and services within early intervention principles, and how to support families whose children are receiving a combination of the two while also juggling medical treatments and appointments doctors and specialists.
