Singing and Signing with Infants and Toddlers

Description

Singing and Signing promotes communication, socialization and education for parents and children. Learning language begins early on and sign language is an extension of gestures and can be a bridge to communication by increasing your child’s vocabulary and decreasing frustration (for you and your child). Signs can also be used to reinforce directions. Pairing language and music encourages development in both hemispheres of the brain. The repetition of rhythm and phrases within songs reinforce learning. This workshop will be hands-on, learning new songs, books and toys/activities that can encourage socializaiton and communication. Participants will receive resources and opportunities to participate in future classes.
