Integrating Therapeutic Strategies in the Home Environment Through a Parent Coaching Model

This workshop will focus on working with families. It will present various methods for actively involving parents and family into therapy visits. In this model, the primary focus of the therapy visit is to "work with" both the child and parent in a way which fully integrate therapeutic strategies into the home or other natural environment.
Discussed during this workshop will be using methods such as interview and discussion, education. identifying obstacles and solutions, actively working together to create a plan of approach, empowerment, use of "support tools" ranging from scheduling to parent reflection to videotape.
