Early Intervention for Autism and SPD

Description

There is increasing recognition that the first few years of a child’s life are a particularly sensitive period in the process of development. Yet many children face various stressors during these years that can impair their healthy development. Early childhood intervention programs are designed to mitigate the factors that place children at risk of poor outcomes. Early intervention service provision often happens in homes and daycares. Providers need to work alone without regular support of other professionals. When working in these settings, providers need to keep current on the latest research in pertinent areas such as Autism, Sensory Processing Disorders and Motor Disorders.

Early childhood intervention programs have been shown to yield benefits in academic achievement, behavior and educational progression. This practical and evidenced-based seminar will provide the therapist, teacher, caregiver and any special needs professional with the latest assessments and interventions critical to providing services to this unique population of children. Rochelle will present the most modern, parent-friendly, yet professional documentation techniques. You will receive the most current research in clinical fields, the best home-based interventions and leave the workshop with practical tools to use with your youngest clients in the clinic or at school the following day!
