Description

This 2-day course on NDT handling and sensory approaches for the pediatric client has been designed for therapists working with children having neuromotor difficulties. Content will utilize both didactic information and labs focusing on assessment/evaluation skills; treatment problem-solving; identification of functional limitations and impairments including sensory issues. Direct NDT handling intervention principles will incorporate evidence from current pediatric research. Core strength and postural control will be emphasized using specific hands-on strategies to improve functional mobility and postural stability with children. Participants will improve their observational skills and direct handling skills while problem solving using NDT and sensory-motor techniques. This course is appropriate for therapists working with clients from birth through adolescence.
Lecture and hands-on labs will be incorporated throughout. Participants need to bring comfortable clothing (shorts/sleeveless shirts) for treatment labs
