Structuring the Home for Success is based on the principles of “Structured Teaching,” a research-based practice used for providing instruction for children with autism. This workshop will provide participants an overview of “Structured Teaching” through visual support strategies, Picture Exchange Communication System - PECS, sensory integration strategies, discrete trial, music/rhythm intervention strategies, and floor time. Participants will learn about structuring their homes to assist their children in social play, daily routines using activity schedules and gaining independence with life skills.

The workshop will offer tips on presenting information for visual learners and will include a “Make and Take.” This workshop is best suited for families and caregivers, family educators and paraprofessionals.
