Mental Health First Aid

Description

Mental Health First Aid is an evidenced based public education program that teaches people the key skills needed to help people with a mental health problem or crisis. Mental Health First Aid focuses on the skills that can be used until professional help is obtained. Upon completion of this eight hour training program, participants receive a Mental Health First Aid Certificate, good for 3 years. When working with the general public, EI professionals can come in contact with parents or caregivers who are experiencing mental health concerns. This training provides both education and tools to handle these situations. Local community resources will also be given during these session.
