This basic level course will introduce professionals to the relationship between atypical movement patterns and poor sensory processing in infants and toddlers in a fun way!
Participants will learn about:
1. Typical components of movement for the infant 0-15 months.
2. The differences between the development of typical and atypical movement by identifying typical movement patterns when observing infant and toddler handling.
3. The early signs of neuromotor disorders in babies between the ages of 3 to 15 months.
4. Simple interventions to prevent the development of further motor disturbances.
5. The differences between the development of typical and atypical sensory processing by identifying typical signs of sensory organization in children ages 3mo-15mo.
6.Simple interventions to promote sensory organization.
7. Identification of relationships between disorders that may have both movement and sensory components.
8. An introduction to the NeuroReady? treatment concept and how to integrate this into practice and family education of families with infants and toddlers.
Participants will learn through video, labs, group discussion and formal lecture formats!
