The Effect of Violence and Trauma on Young Children

Description

This presentation will examine the current trends and issues related to childhood exposure to interpersonal violence, crime and other forms of intrapsychic trauma. Behavioral and emotional manifestations will be explored, as well as methods of sensitive and comprehensive assessment.
Intervention strategies for professionals and family members who work with and support young children with and without disabilities, who together are navigating the often chaotic and confusing aftermath of violence and trauma, will be shared.
