Looking at Children with New Eyes: The Influence of Sensory Processing on Development and Behavior

Description

All behavior has meaning. Understanding sensory processing enables us to observe and develop new ways of interpreting the behaviors of young children, and expand our repertoire of care giving, teaching, and behavior management strategies. Participants in this workshop will explore the stress response, vestibular, and proprioception sensory systems. They will learn about the interrelated components of sensory processing, modulation, and threshold. Cue reading will be examined as a way to understand the child's unique sensory-neurological makeup. The day will include interactive discussions of the possible meanings of specific behaviors, and how to help the children who demonstrate these behaviors. Participants will leave the session with practical strategies for fostering optimal development in young children.

THIS SESSION IS OFFERED AT 40% OFF NORMAL TUITION OF $150!
