Description |
This exciting three-day course will help participants learn to better assess and treat young children (ages 12 months-5 years) with complex movement disorders by first learning to address underlying sensory systems and then integrate this knowledge with NDT handling skills. The Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) will be presented to include the practice model and specific intervention strategies. Elements of the Sensory Integration Modal will be discussed and implemented as an enhancement to NDT. The course will be mostly hands on, with problem solving for specific children who present a wide range of diagnoses, and deficits in activity participation. By creating a playful state of readiness in children, therapists will learn how to achieve functional movement goals faster and in a more fun way! Participants are requested to wear comfortable clothes to allow easy movement in the labs with other course participants. Course participants will leave with practical strategies to incorporate into their treatment sessions right away!
