Emerging Orthotic Management Concepts in Rehabilitation

Description

Children and adults with movement and posture disorders and those requiring orthopedic care can benefit from orthotic solutions that are individualized and optimized for the patient’s presentation and functional goals and that are based on emerging concepts in ortho and neuro recovery (strength training, active and passive ROM, motor learning for gait quality and UE function).

This course demonstrates the comprehensive UE and LE orthotic evaluation process and consideration of functional goals and patient compliance are critical in determining the appropriate orthotic design. Emerging orthotic concepts will be reviewed and demonstrated through a patient lab(s). Effective teamwork in evaluation, treatment, and orthotic solutions will be emphasized.
