Rethinking Stress: Positive Habits for Early Intervention Professionals

It’s no secret that working with young children and their families can be stressful. With so many negative connotations attached to stress, it’s difficult to believe any good could actually come from it. This workshop, however, seeks to explore that very notion, and will introduce you to harnessing the positive aspects of stress in your working and personal lives. Jennifer Rosinia will address the most current research on stress, as well as the many types of stress and how they affect physiology and behavior. You’ll learn practical strategies to employ immediately.

You will be able to:

identify various types of stress
learn ways in which stress influences the architecture of the developing brain
review research findings related to stress and the mind-body connection
practice strategies to decrease the harmful effects of stress
connect your discoveries immediately to your practice
