CHOICES for Parents, a statewide coalition supporting families of deaf/hh children, sponsors the READ Program and has distributed over 25,000 books throughout Illinois to encourage literacy. Due to a generous grant from Oberkotter Foundation, we have created reading kits and videos to expand this program into the 0 – 3 population with the goal of providing parents with successful strategies to create language rich, interactive memories with their infants/toddlers. CHOICES will share the reading kits and strategies outlined in the first video as well as goals for continued rollout of the READ Kits statewide & how EI providers can participate.
