Promoting Healthy Sleep Behaviors in Infants and Toddlers

Description

Discussion points include typical sleep patterns birth to three, pros and cons of sleep training, guiding parental responses to support positive sleep behaviors in infants and toddlers, sleep challenges in children with developmental disabilities like Autism and Down syndrome, sleep deprivation and how it affects the mother-child dyad, cultural practices and how they affect the relationship between the interventionist and the family, co-sleeping and the risk for SIDS and identification and treatment of sleep disorders. Participants are encouraged to share a specific case for review.
