The typically developing child and the meaning of the milestone

Description

Two 2 hour sessions. Must attend both days: 6/9/2016 and 6/16/2016, in order to receive any IL EI credit.

6/9/2016 This workshop for service coordinators and providers will discuss the meaning of milestones in the context of overall development for the typically developing child. Themes will include 1) the underlying developmental mechanisms move children forward in development 2) the experiential components that move children forward 3) the interactional components that are necessary to move children forward 4)overall themes of development beyond domains such as trust and attachment.

The second meeting on 6/16/2016 will include building a rubric of reflection so that service coordinators and providers can understand individual behaviors and family needs in the context of typical development beyond milestones. What else needs to be considered for understanding a family's needs and what services might be indicated? How can we use assessment tools to identify and address family needs?

Must attend both to get credit.
