ASQ SE2 Updates and Assistive Technology Reminders for CFC #15 Service Coordinators

This is an "in house" training for CFC #15 Service Coordinators on the changes to the ASQ SE 2 and Assistive Technology reminders. The ASQ SE2 updates discussed include: the addition of the 2 month questionnaire; adjusting for prematurity; changes in the format including wording changes in the response and added lines to assist with scoring; changes on the scoring sheet and changes in cutoff numbers; additional questions that target communication and regulatory behaviors to address ASD; changes to question wording to improve clarity; and the increased sample size. Each of these changes will be reviewed and discussed. We will also review how to score the tool, what to do if a score is over cutoff and how to present and discuss using the tool with families.

The Assistive Technology reminders discussed with service coordinators include: timelines; Service Coordinator responsibilities; and AT Coordinator responsibilities. We will also discuss general AT reminders and problem areas with processing AT requests in a timely manner for children and families. Scenarios that commonly arise for service coordinators regarding Assistive Technology will be discussed.
