Assessment of Infants and Toddlers with Developmental Delays: What do physicians need to know?

Description

Occasionally when children are receiving early intervention services parents and the EI team is looking for more information about what is causing the child's developmental delays. If there are additional medical concerns, the increase for physician involvement related to a child's diagnosis can increase. For this discussion, Dr. Ochoa will share what physicians are often looking for and why they ask many of the questions they do during the evaluation process. Dr. Ochoa will overview some of the common clues that physician's may be looking for to understand what a child's diagnosis may be. Cases of children with uncertain diagnoses will be reviewed.
