Understanding genetics and the process for assessing a child and diagnosing a genetic condition can be complicated. In this presentation Dr. Ochoa will review the process for diagnosing a child. What clinical observations and assessments might initiate a genetic evaluation? What is the process for understanding a child's genetic footprint? What is a Geneticist? What is a Genetic Counselor? What does it mean when a child has a diagnosis? Several genetic conditions were briefly described.
