Assessing the Needs of the Child with Complex Care Needs/Technology Assisted Needs

Description

This is an "in house" training for CFC#15 service coordinators and providers during which Dr. Larry Desch will present medical diagnostic, assessment, treatment information, and resources. A case example of a child with Complex Care Needs and Technology Assisted Needs will be presented. A dependence on technology such as tracheostomys, ventilators, central intravenous catheters, feeding tubes, and CSF shunts will be addressed with a focus on children with tracheostomy dependence. Differential Diagnoses, diagnostic considerations, clinical features, available resources, prevention, treatment, prognosis, clinical implications, and assessment of the needs of the child and family in EI will be addressed.
