Assessing the Needs of the Child with a Language Delay and the Child with Down Syndrome

Description

This is an "in house" training for CFC#15 service coordinators and providers during which Dr. Larry Desch will present medical diagnostic, assessment, treatment information, and resources. Case examples of a child with a language delay and a dual language learner, and a child with Down Syndrome will be presented. Differential diagnoses, history, prevalence, evaluation and assessment process, diagnostic considerations, clinical features, co-occurring disorders, prognosis, available resources, treatment, clinical implications, and assessment of the needs of the child and family in EI will be addressed.
