Description |
This workshop is offered to La Rabida in-house staff only.
This course is intended to provide theoretical and practical information to guide decision-making for introducing and progressing feedings in the NICU and other venues where newborns are cared for. Supporting both breast and bottle feedings, this course will provide evidence-based strategies for identifying readiness, supporting the transition to oral feedings, and interventions to maximize success. The SOFFI Method has shown improvements in feeding both in-hospital and post-discharge. It has been used successfully with preterm and ill term infants. Target audience is professionals who work directly with babies and their caregivers to promote feeding and nutrition.
