Dr. Olds will summarize a program of research focused on improving maternal and child health with home visiting by nurses – the Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP). He will describe its theoretical and empirical foundations, and the results of three randomized clinical trials of the NFP conducted with different populations, living in different contexts, and at different points in US social and economic history. He will include a discussion of his team’s approach to US and international replication of the NFP, along with corresponding programs of research aimed at improving the model and its implementation in community settings.
