Vision, Orientation and Mobility Strategies: Promoting Looking and Movement in Infants and Toddlers During Routines.

Description

Participants will learn about strategies that can be used with children who have visual impairments. Strategies vary among children according to their visual condition and visual functional skills. Vision and orientation and mobility strategies can be used throughout the day, and can be incorporated into a child's routine by caregivers/families. The routines include (but are not limited to) waketime, meal time, play time, errands out in the community, bath and bedtime. Tips and suggestions will be shared that will show how to include sensory exploration and visual stimulation in various activities.
