A variety of medical diagnoses were reviewed and discussed including Traumatic Brain Injuries, Cortical Blindness, and Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder. Dr. Smith reviewed feeding development and difficulties. He explained different feeding supports including ng tube, g tube, j tube, and TPN (total parenteral nutrition) feedings via a central line. Dr. Smith also reviewed the diagnostic criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder and the reasoning for completing an ADOS in addition to a medical diagnostic. Finally, Dr. Smith reviewed the concept of medical home and the importance of EI interventionists communicating with a child's medical team.
