Powerful Interactions Seminar for Home Visiting Professionals

Description

The interactions early childhood professionals have with young children and their family members shape their early ideas of who they are and how much they know and can do. How you interact in your role as a home visiting professional leads to children and families feeling seen, understood and safe to explore and discover new insights about themselves, each other and the people and things in the world around them. Likewise, supervisors support program staff in feeling seen, understood and safe, which gives home visitors and family support specialists a place to reflect on their important work with families. In this workshop we will examine how you can apply the principles and strategies of Powerful Interactions to enhance the work you do in your role each day.
Using Powerful Interactions with Families to Support Children’s Learning is facilitated by Judy Jablon, the executive director of Leading for Children, a non-profit that focuses on leadership in early learning. During her more than thirty-five years in early childhood education, Judy has worked as a facilitator, consultant and author, emphasizing the importance of relationships, teacher-child interactions, effective communication, and assessment. She is an author of numerous publications and videos including Powerful Interactions: How to Connect with Children to Extend their Learning and Coaching with Powerful Interactions.
