This course presented on an article by Perdue and colleagues that was published in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders. The article, “Differing developmental trajectories in heart rate responses to speech stimuli in infants at high and low risk for autism spectrum disorder,” describes how an infant’s early heart rate response to speech varies depending on ASD risk levels, suggesting an altered developmental trajectory from birth for children with ASD.
