Identifying Autism Spectrum Disorder in Very Young Children and Teaching functional skills

Description

Autism Spectrum Disorder is often difficult to identify in very young children, and social deficits make therapeutic interventions challenging to implement. This training will focus on emerging, observable characteristics of ASD in relation to the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria with video examples. Several behavioral teaching methods will be reviewed and participants will have an opportunity role play these. Research literature on early pivotal skills will also be reviewed.
