Understanding Why Our Families Grieve

Description

These two (2) one-hour presentations/discussions, led by Cara Long and Sharon Pike, Parent Liaisons with over 41 years of combined experience, will provide Early Intervention therapists with a greater understanding of the process families experience in coming to terms with their new life and acceptance of their child with a disability. The presentation will incorporate information from the renowned speaker, author and clinician, Ken Moses, who focuses his work on parents of children with a disability. In addition to covering the stages of grief endured by these families, Sharon and Cara will challenge therapists to explore their own feelings in dealing with families and provide real life tips that they can incorporate into their daily practice.
