Understanding the Biomechanics of Typical/Atypical Development: Why Does it Matter?

Description

During this session you will review typical and atypical
development during the first year of life as the foundation
for later development. Focus on the biomechanical
changes that occur along with postural development and
how those two systems (musculoskeletal and neuromuscular
systems) interact. Video illustrations will afford you
the opportunity to apply the concepts being presented.
With the ICF model as a framework, you will examine
the process of evaluation and treatment planning. The
emphasis will be on early treatment addressing single
system or multi-system impairments with a focus on the
prevention of secondary impairments
