Facilitated Case Discussion May 2018

Description

This was a facilitated case discussion with participants from multiple disciplines providing information from their discipline specific perspective on particular intervention strategies that are useful in working with children who are making limited progress and exhibit significant delays. Each participant offered information on their work with a child and family and shared expertise from their discipline specific perspective to educate other participants on different approaches. Participants shared strategies they have found helpful and offered education and support to other participants on how they can implement those strategies in their work as well. This case discussion focused on typical and atypical social and emotional development including separation anxiety, stranger anxiety and temper tantrums, as well as shared anxiety in the parent-child relationship.
Discussed barriers that were present such as medical complications and trauma history and how that affects the relationship with the providers.
