Description |
We continue our series on understanding the family's perspective as they navigate the Early Intervention system. We have previously discussed the stages of grief and what families experience as they are just learning of their child's needs and how that affects their participation in Early Intervention.
In this session, we will be hearing directly from families. We have a panel of 5 parents, all of whom have children who have participated in Early Intervention at different levels. The panel will be moderated by two EI social workers who will be offering questions to the panel to help us understand the EI process from the parents' perspective so that we can improve our practice. The insights that come from these families will lead future discussions about effective interventions, developing strong IFSPs that are important and relevant to families and ensuring active participation from families in their IFSP development process.
