Feeding Development Birth to Three Years - Developmentally Appropriate Expectations

Description

This two hour workshop is designed to provide Service Coordinators with an overview of the range of skills and behaviors related to feeding that are considered typical or within age expectations for children aged birth to three. It is very common for children and families to experience stress and anxiety around the area of feeding and many children are described as “picky eaters”. How do we know what is considered “typical” or “within age expectations” and when does a picky eater become a problem eater? How do we help families understand developmentally appropriate expectations for children under three related to feeding and when do we refer for a specialist to assess and determine if formal supports and services are indicated? Participants in this training will be able to utilize the information contained in this training to answer these questions and more.
