Description

Through individual review and group discussion of designated journal articles, participants identified, summarized, and analyzed key points and conclusions most applicable to the care and management of breastfeeding infants who may present with the following concerns: ankyloglossia, hyperbilirubinemia, and cow’s milk protein intolerance.

2) Identify when referral to outside providers or further intervention may be warranted when dealing with ankyloglossia, hyperbilirubinemia, and cow’s milk protein intolerance in the breastfeeding infant.
3) Critically review and discuss the Hazelbaker Assessment Tool for the evaluation of ankyloglossia.
4) Via case examples, critically reflect and synthesize clinical implications in the evaluation and treatment of breastfeeding infants who present with ankyloglossia, hyperbilirubinemia, and cow’s milk protein intolerance.
