Description
Children on the autism spectrum, as well as children with other disorders, often have difficulty communicating verbally. Some children are non-verbal. However, that does not mean that they are unable to communicate. For many children, inappropriate behavior is a primary way to communicate their emotions, desires and needs. In this workshop, we will examine the various means and functions (the hows and whys) of behavioral communication, and how to shape behaviors into more effective communication.
