Description |
This lecture will cover our approach to the evaluation of children with auditory neuropathy for cochlear implantation. The candidacy process for this special population typically differs from that of children with sensorineural hearing loss. The need for repeat auditory brainstem response testing and monitoring of otoacoustic emissions as well as early intervention with a strong component of aural habilitation both with and without amplification will be discussed. Case studies will be presented.
