Complementary Interventions for Autism, Asperger's, Sensory, and ADHD in Children & Adolescents

Description

The diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome, the highest-functioning form of Autism, has grown dramatically this past decade. Children formerly thought to be merely “thinking differently” are now known to be affected by this disorder. The diagnosis itself sets into motion a host of treatments including social skills training, all of which are discussed in this seminar. Many autism spectrum children have Sensory Processing Disorder that cause over or under-sensitivity to sound and touch. As with any relatively new label, it is also becoming over-used. Many use it as a euphemism for children who are really autistic. This seminar will help therapists, educators, and mental health professionals understand what causes Autism, SPD and Asperger’s and what can be done to attenuate it.
This exciting new workshop will teach attendees both traditional and integrative or alternative treatments for children with Autism, Asperger’s, Sensory and ADHD. Dr. Eisenberg focuses on the treatment triad including Speech/Occupational/Physical Therapies plus behavioral and medical interventions. You will thoroughly understand these treatment techniques and how they may apply in your setting. This seminar is also beneficial to clinicians, educators and parents who want to take a proactive look at these disorders and walk away with knowledge to make a difference.
