Focus of workshop: Introductory/Skill Building
Description: This workshop will help participants identify factors that influence second language
acquisition and practice analyzing levels of language proficiency. It will also address assessment practices that
support the identification of DLL children with disabilities and how to use that information to make instructional
and programmatic decisions. Participants will explore effective instructional strategies and tactics for scaffolding
instruction to meet the individual needs of their children. This workshop is being held in collaboration with
Elgin School District U-46.
Intended Audience: Birth through Kindergarten Educators, Related Service Personnel, Administrators and
Family Members

Workshop: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Note: Registration is limited to 100 participants
