Trauma & Children

Description

Psychological and emotional trauma are the residual effects of extraordinarily stressful events (sexual, physical, verbal abuse and others) that leave you feeling helpless, vulnerable and fragile in a violent world. The impact of trauma in early childhood potentially can cause long-lasting developmental impacts. If not resolved, these residual impacts can follow throughout one's life. This training will explore the impact of the trauma on developmental progressions with an emphasis on current research and will identify how early experiences actually shape the brain.
